About the Author

Emerson holds a PhD in child and family ecology from Michigan State University, a BA in Biblical Studies from Wheaton College, an MA in communications from Wheaton College Graduate School, and an MDiv from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. If you've already read Love & Respect, this is extremely repetitive with the original "Love and Respect." It seems like an attempt to squeeze a little more money out of a good idea. Just my opinion. It's got it's helpful bits, but overall, I wouldn't recommend purchase. Read the original, though, it's a very helpful concept.
Very good book, would recommend it to every couple. It has helped me learn to better communicate with my hubby in his language. We have found a deeper connection than ever before.
Great book! Goes along with Love & Respect and gives more real life examples and advice. Every dating relationship should go through this book!
This book was excellent! I loved the real life stories included to drive home points. I really loved the use of scriptures to back up your valid points. It was an eye-opener. I recommend this book to couples who are engaged, married, or contemplating divorce. You will learn many things about your spouse and specifically about your self. Great book on love and respect.
Should be required reading before getting married! If you don't get it or don't agree with it , don't bother with the "I do's"
Very good marriage counselling material. However, the two books I received have multiple pages where spots of glue have stuck pages together rendering some words hard to decipher. I'd return them but need them for a young engaged couple so will instead take the time to pull the corners apart and decode the marred words. An unexpected and disappointing hassle.
I did not feel that the author did the respect part justice. I bought the book to learn more about true expectations of how to show outward respect for husbands and found it ;lacking.
