Likely you are purchasing this book for a class and not to start some new hobby in fluid mechanics. This is one of those books that has helped me in very surprising ways both in work and in life. It's a pretty serious, technical text, but if you are not faint of heart it's a pretty good book .
Way cheaper than the current edition and, as far as I can tell, the same.

I felt that this textbook was easy to follow, and that the example problems were well selected. The examples illustrate practical application and do a great job at helping the reader to understand the methodology.
I used this book for my Fluid Mech class back in college. Once in a while, I find myself opening up the book for a quick reference for work related projects.
Using this book in my fluids class at Oklahoma State. good condition book, reads easy and examples aren't too bad. Pretty easy subject though so not too much room to complain.
