That's not a bad thing necessarily, but I like a little more build up (even in novellas) before the insta-love/straight up lustfest ensues.Eamon and Clay are Irish Mob Bosses visiting Boston on a mission to remove a "bad seed" from their organization. Phoebe is the fiancee (in name only) of one of the top members of the Boston crew who is lost by said fiance in a card game to Eamon and Clay who both want to consume her on sight even though it may be in direct conflict of their goal. Phoebe can't believe the pull she feels towards these 2 older, large, dominating men. Being with them runs counter to her hidden agenda and once her end game is known, it may ultimately ruin the romance.Ultimately, the book is as the bottom tag line suggests: Ready for completely over-the-top, extremely unrealistic, insta-love fantasy at its finest? We’re talking page two forever-love, so buckle up, hang on tight, and don’t say I didn’t warn you!What I liked:--- Definitely plenty of steamy goodness--- When the plot actually kicked in, it was decentWhat I didn't like as much:--- These are 2 rough and tumble, mega alpha-male mob bosses who "fell in love" in approximately 0.00001 seconds (and claimed to be drawn to more than just her looks --- how is that possible when they didn't even speak to each other?)--- Not sure exactly what was "mob" about them --- the author made them out to be more like saints or possibly avenging angels--- The "older, large, dominant men" was over played to the extent that it got repetitive ----we get it: they are older, large, and dominantOverall, a nice smutty read that starts off with some major action and ends with a smidge of plot. Since it is St. Patrick’s Day, many in Boston are celebrating. But Phoebe is unhappy at the moment because her supposed fiancé just lost her in a game of cards. Now it appears she belongs to two Irish mob kings from Dublin, and while she really does not like the criminal chosen for her, the thought of belonging to Eamon and Clay is terrifying yet also exciting. But Phoebe is unaware that she is not the only one with secrets.Madison Faye definitely delivers a sizzling story about the Irish mob plus three individuals linked somehow to the organization. Clay and Eamon are very high up when it comes to making decisions for the crime families, but all it takes is interaction with Phoebe to deeply affect each of their future choices. Getting all three of their viewpoints let me know what they were thinking during every situation. The author is known for creating extremely steamy scenes, and there is never a lack of blazing passion from almost the start of GET LUCKY and then continuing to the very end. Some surprising turns make the story intriguing, but it is the sexual encounters that I will be remembering. Rating – 4.5 Stars
This story is sexy and filthy just like you would expect from a story by Ms. Faye. What you might not expect is the fact Phoebe isn't exactly the helpless, virgin heroine....nope she has a secret. What's that secret? Get Lucky is dangerously dirty and thrilling. Phoebe is the prize in a poker game that is won by two extremely sexy Irish alphas, Eamon and Clay. There's a reason these two guys are in town and why they crossed paths with the enticing Phoebe. Secrets, mobsters, threesomes, twists and so much more stuffed into this stimulating story. Madison Faye gives us another terrific book that is taboo, action packed and super steamy. Who knew St Patty's Day could be so fun? Prepare to be seduced, you've been warned. This book is extremely hot and sure to make your heart skip a beat.
Let’s just say Madison Faye is the queen of Manège! She writes really relatable characters. Once Eamon and Clay lay eyes on Phoebe they are gone. They are two Irish Kingpins from Dublin and they just won Phoebe in a poker game from her “fiancéâ€. But that wasn’t their objective coming to Boston and it could mean war and bloodshed. Eamon and Clay just don’t care they saw her and knew they had to have her. Will Phoebe go along with the bet and will it mess up her objective? Quick and steamy read from this author.
This is a voluntary ARC review. Holy Green Beer Day! This book, right from the start, hit with a sizzle that just kept going, and getting hotter than hades! Just wow! Loved this book. I actually slowed down my speed reading, I didn’t want to miss a bit of this graphic hot Irish Alphaness. Sweet perfect ending, doesn’t get better than that!
I absolutely loved reading my arc copy of Get lucky by Madison Faye. You can never go wrong when reading her books and this one is no different. I was captivated from the beginning. The story was exciting with off the charts heat. The characters were phenomenally written with undeniable chemistry. This is a definite must read.
After reading 'Bound to his Bride' I was so disappointed at how bad that book was. As a fan of Madison Faye I was afraid of not being able to enjoy her books anymore. I am happy that 'Get Lucky' was back to the kind of story and writing that made me a fan!!!
